I have been drinking Peet's coffee for many years. Alfred Peet started Peet's Coffee, Tea and Spices in Berkeley,CA in 1966. In fact, Alfred born in the Netherlands of a coffee family for over a 100 years, thought Schultz, the founder of Starbucks how to roast coffee. Peet's coffee is more robust than Starbucks and it's Major Dickinson is one of their oldest blends. Peet's coffee and Tea have many stores and license stores in many airports. If you like well roasted beans and robust coffee give it a try.
There are at least 4 Starbucks within a mile of me. One in the grocery store, one in a Target and two freestanding. I usually have tea instead of coffee. It is my computer central.
I would love to know who you get your coffee from. awesomeda@aol.com please.

I just regret not buying stock in SB in the early 90s as it split twice in one year. I always wondered why they charged $13 a lb. for "Blue Note". The few times I did buy a $3 cup back then I'd ask what kind of beans; like where are they from and what's the roast. Not even managers knew how to answer such a simple question. Come to find out as we did long ago that SB is a Mother Earth raper. It's about profit without conscience.

I found Seattle’s Best to be better than Starbucks, but I have only found it on rare occasions in grocery stores and the bean/roast selection was meager. FYI, one of Seattle’s Best bean sources is the Kauai Coffee Co., the largest coffee co. in the US.

I use to go to Seattle Best until Starbucks bought them and closed all their store in Seattle.
