Do you suggest i use the sigma 300mm 2.8 sport on my 7d for baseball and hockey to get the extra length since the crop vs full frame. Is it advantageous to buy the 5d will it improve my picture quality.

You already have a 7DII, one of the 2 best sports and action cameras Canon currently offers, the other being the 1DxII. If you are unsatisfied with your results then you probably need to look at your technique. Buying another camera, even a 5DIII, which has lessor capabilities for sports and action, is not going to solve your problem. If you need a 2.8 for lighting conditions then the Sigma, even though I am not familiar with it, sounds like a good candidate. Sigma makes good lenses. If an f/4-5.6 lens will serve your purposes then I suggest you look at the Canon EF 100-400 L II. A superb lens for a lot less money then the $3500 you mentioned. Plus, you can zoom in and out. A handy feature. It's stabilization is top-notch and it's auto-focus is almost instantaneous.

Except for shooting indoors and / or low-light, the Canon EF 100-400 L II is your best bet for performance and range. Otherwise, you're looking for 2.8 lenses of the various brands that are more expensive and larger, if for no other reason, because of the size of the front element to give you a f/2.8 aperture.

I just want a full frame vs the 7d crop i really like the 7d it has a better burst rate then the 5d. My main goal in all of this is to get closer zoom capabilities and sharper results

That canon would work great for my bsseball shots but hockey is indoors with below average lights so 2.8 is definitely needed. Was trying to cover all bases with the sigma 120-300 2.8 sport lens

It all comes down to where and how you are going to shoot. Indoors, where lighting is often a problem, I generally use my 5DIV and 70-200 2.8. Sometimes even that isn't enough. Having anti-flicker capability, which the 5DIII doesn't, is a big plus.
If you are determined to get a full frame I would look for a more affordable lens and save the extra money towards the 5DIV. Someone stated that the MKII version of the Sigma is also excellent and for a lot less money. Don't be afraid of used or refurbished either.
