Macros greater than 1:1 ... I don't get it! ... Do we really need them for everyday shooting?

Thanks, RWR ...
That one took me to a list of ALL the links, related to Macro-Photography ....
It's a bit overwhelming ...
Is there a specific one dealing with Macro beyond 1:1 you think I should look at?

Isn't 1:1 enough for most types of macro-photography?
Absolutely not, but you sure don't need it for everyday shooting (?)!

It may be more productive to do a Google search for specific methods. Reversing a 50mm or shorter lens is probably the simplest way to go beyond 1:1 while maintaining image quality. Lens stacking is effective also. It goes on from there. You get out of it what you put into it.

That's what I thought!
You don't need any macro (no matter the magnification) for everyday shooting!!

Try to tell that to those who shoot macro every day!

There's no doubt one can choose to make Macrophotography their everyday work.
Those who do, and make money at it, are in a very specialized field. All power to them.
You can also choose, as a hobbyist - to use Macro Lenses for everything you shoot.
That, also, is a choice. And, if you don't make money doing it - never mind ....
You are an explorer, and for that - I commend you ....
