SZALAJJ - (3rd comment) "ignorance of camera equipment" ? ... I went to RIT, mate. Been a pro photographer for MORE than 50 years ... see my other comment about my arsenal of flash-heads ... I've just found, when I need flash, now, I am retired - the internal units are more than adequate. I don't do much flash-work, anymore.

Peterff ... your past comments to me have been rude as well as useless ...

This one - doesn't even make any sense ... so I don't even KNOW if it's rude or not ...

It may not make sense to you, since you are the recipient. Communication is a two way thing, perhaps your receiver equipment isn't up to the job.

As for your olfactory senses, they may be dulled by your natural and habitual environment. Could be The Attic, or maybe I just smell troll. That may be escaping you.

BURK - I have always felt more comfortable with printed manuals. When I want to go back and review something, I always know exactly where to go. It's that way with my Bible, too ... I can always find something the second, and subsequent times) more easily, after the first time I look it up.

Rochester Institute of Technology? Whoopee do! Did you get turned down by MIT, Harvard, and Stanford? Well, that is quite elucidating. It's good to know that your ARSEnal of internally mounted flashes are sufficiently enlightening and stimulating. Perhaps you get a nice glowing feeling of satisfaction.

Other than that, do you have a valid point to make?

SALAJJ (1st comment) ... Congrats! ... Good Luck on your impending purchase ....

There you go again!

You really need to LEARN how to use the "Reply Quote" Button EVERY TIME that you respond to someone. Often your response could be several pages from the original comment that you're replying to. For instance your reply to my (1st comment) I had to go back to Page 4 to find out what I had said. So I decided to copy it below to put your response in context.

Such negativity.

It depends on just what is being bought.

Personally if I was going to make a purchase, I would choose to buy a camera new from Hunts Photo, and add their extended warranty, because I know that I could potentially drop the body at some point. Or need a sensor cleaning, which I've used on my current body.

But I wouldn't be adverse to buying used or refurbished lenses, if they fit my needs. I tried a used Canon 100-400 L, lens a year ago, but it was a v.1 and didn't meet my needs. After I returned it, I was gifted a v.2 of that lens.

Boxes and manuals aren't always necessary, UNLESS you're a collector. Manuals can be downloaded from the internet. Yes I've saved all of my original boxes and manuals, so that if I upgrade in the future, I can pass them on with their respective pieces of equipment.

Basically, set your budget, then look for equipment that fits into your budget. Only you will know if your budget fits into the used, refurbished, or new category.

I know what I want to purchase next, but that purchase has been put off for over 14 months due to a change in my job status last year. The good news is that I should finally be able to make that purchase within the next month!
Such negativity. br br It depends on just what is... (show quote)
