Love our USPS. Like UPS. Fedex - not as much.

Found the number on their site in less than 5 seconds. At the very top in small print is -SUPPORT-

Just interesting: This past week I ordered an item from a major online retailer, delivery promised on Thursday. After business hours I get a notice on my pc that there was a problem with my address and the package could not be delivered til it was fixed. I called the retailer and was informed that they had my correct address, and she called the carrier. After a short and amiable conversation, we found that the address on the package had been changed to one that was retired over thirty years ago. They first wanted to deliver my package the next Wednesday, which was unacceptable, so they delivered it Friday which was OK (considering). Once the package arrived, I looked at the labeling and discovered the original label was correct and intact, it had been covered up by a label with the faulty address, followed on top with one the same as the original. I have no idea how this happened, but if someone has hacked the database(s) of major carriers and is corrupting their data, we might expect more incidents like this. Weird

Anyone shipping with any carrier is taking a chance. When you ship with a common carrier you sign a contract. They are bound to that contract as the shipper and you as the shippee. All packages are insured to a certain amount. If you want additional insurance on a shipment you must purchase it. It is all very simple.

Not with Fed EX; sorry. Been around the horn with them and never again. They owe me over $400 for a home theater receiver they destroyed.

Just curious. Is there any vendor who has not screwed you? You've got to be the most unlucky guy in the world...

I've had problems with UPS, but the local people here in my town, especially my driver are such good people that they always take care of any problems that come up.

The USPS is barely a mm better than Fed Ex.

I don't think I have a whole lot more problems than others do; I just recognize when there is a screw up and expect it to be made right.

Unfortunately, there are not that many competent and honest businesses out there anymore.

i wanted to talk to some one about a package to be delivered. There are no phone numbers available any where. they are not listed in the local phone book. no number on the web site. On the web there is a ASK Me link. When there and after going around in circles i ask the question........Are you a person? answer No I'm AI here to answer questions.
Give me a break. i will never ship with them again and will ask anyone I order from not to send me anything via FedEX.

I send legal documents (Including drawings with my seal) all over the country by Fed Ex for years.
Never had a problem. Perhaps it might be you?

Not to long ago I posted a similar problem. Getting to talk to a live person is frustrating. And when I did get to talk to someone it was a joke. All I wanted to do was to let them know they're had dialed a wrong phone number.

I've experienced blunders from all three - USPS, UPS, and FedX.

FedX - tried to deliver a lens I had repaired to a neighbor but he wasn't home so they left the usual note on his door instead of mine requiring a signature. I waited at home all day. Next day it came.

UPS - recently I ordered an iPad from B&H. I watched the tracking info and it was supposed to be delivered in 2 days. On the day it was supposed to be delivered the tracking info never said "out for delivery". Next day I contacted B&H and they shipped my product a few days later. But UPS had lost my package and because of this, my order took 10 days instead of 2 days.

USPS - recently I sent a letter to Canon for a $300 rebate so I paid extra for it to require a signature and notification. I never got either. I had to write and call Canon several times and finally got my rebate, but never ever got proof of delivery from the USPS.

In short, they all make mistakes. Doesn't mean that I'm going to stop using them.

Just to be clear.........I have no problem with the service of FedEx; my problem was with the customer service. Every company should have a phone number where you can call and talk to a person to answer a question or to solve a problem.
The above phone number did work; why don't they list the number on their web site?
I cant understand why you would use letters instead of numbers. It's the same number of keystrokes. If you are looking for a telephone number, that is what you would expect to see....numbers.

I guess we all have different experiences all the time. During Christmas shipping time last year, FedEx and UPS left packages on the front stoop. The USPS rang the doorbell when they dropped off a package. The others did not. I've had shipments sent to me that arrived much earlier than expected delivered by UPS and FedEx. I hope the problems that some people have are exceptions, rather than business as usual. I have few problems with any of them.

Did you know that quite often FedEx packages are delivered to the USPS and then to your house? I didn't know this either until I tracked something I had bought. It had been sent out FedEx but was delivered to my house by the USPS. They work together.

Ups does that too. It takes a day longer to get a package that way and Fed Ex and UPS's profits sky rocket by not making the delivery to the final destination.

I've never been to the UK but I'm pretty sure most telephones there are just like or very similar to telephones her in the USA. If you take a close look at the phone dial you will notice that the numbers 2 thru 9 are also represented by letters. 1 is also a or b or c, 2 is d or e or f. This pattern continues all the way to 9 or x, y, z.

Many years ago, phone numbers were represented by letters and numbers. For example NIagra 4 was the same as 644. The phone companies did away with that scheme years ago but the advertising world still uses the letters because certain combinations of letters are easier to remember than numbers, like GOFEDEX or 1800GOFEDEX. It's really quite simple.
