If you are taking a small web image, and making changes to it, you might notice these effects after saving.

Some folks might think that they can make another "good copy" of an open image by saving it in a different location or under a different filename. However, this will invoke another JPEG compression cycle on the open file. The correct way to make a copy is to use the OS-level Copy/Paste commands before opening the image.
