I bought a USB charger that came with a pair of RAV Power EN-EL15 batteries, that I have tested in my D500 and found they worked without a problem. I haven't used them since as I have enough Nikon batteries, but the D500 did function properly with them. My hesitancy in using after market batteries is they would void Nikon's guarantee if they were to malfunction and that is a risk that I personally don't think is worth taking to save a couple of bucks.
Hi,
Both work with Nikon D850 and are interchangeable. Attaching a page from User's Manual (D 850) that mentions the number of shots taken will be lesser with EN-EL15.

I have a D500 and have been using aftermarket batteries in it without a problem? That would be one aftermarket battery in the camera, I have not tried using them in the battery grip. Perhaps I'm just lucky.
I use the EN-EL15, EN-EL15a, and EN-EL15b interchangeably in a D7200, D500, D850, and Z6. They all work. The a and b have a bit more power so give you a few more shots. The b has an added circuit allowing it to be charged in the Z cameras.
There was a group that had a problem in one camera model, but it was a specific batch.
