One of my favorite (and in my opinion, most beautiful) places on this earth. The view from the outside deck at Nepenthe is stunning. Great shots - thanks so much for posting.

Great pictures. I love the Big Sur area. Was there last summer for vacation. The whole California coast is beautiful. Especially enjoyed the beach at Carmel!

There is hardly ever a time when there is not work being done on PCH. Costal erosion is continuous.

The repair of CA 1 goes on. The bridge replacement at Pfeiffer Creek is on schedule for a September completion. That leaves the giant 5 Mega cubic yard Mud Creek slide to deal with. They have developed a plan to replace the portion covered by the Mud Creek slide with a whole realigned section of new road. The slide is stabilizing now and depending on weather the CA Transportation Dept. feels the road will be restored to traffic in a little more than one year. The Dept. stated in yesterday's San Luis Obispo Tribune that weather is the "wild card".
