Definitely get the d810 base ISO of 64 that is a very important feature @ base ISO this camera has the highest dynamic range of any dslr 14.8 ev. It has highlight weighted metering , no aa filter as others has stated , I got mine from Nikonusa. Year end refurbished sale for $1899.0 plus tax. I would not wait for the d850 rumor has it $ 4600.00 dollars.Check out DXO Mark review .

What was the condition of the refurb D810 that you bought from Adorama ?? How many scratches and dings were there, if any ??

I haven't gotten the D810 from Adorama yet. I just got an email from them that it was shipped today, somewhat disappointing because yesterday around 10 pm in NY when I hit the pay button I included extra $2-3 for "prompt shipment." I'm betting it will take a lot longer to find out than I'm willing to spend.

I would be interested in knowing what condition it is when when you get it. I have been toying with the idea of selling/trading in my D750 and D7000 for the D810. Right now a new one is well over 3 grand but I suspect the price will come down when the D850 hits the streets.
I see that there is a refurb 810 still available at Adorama. My other option is to sell/trade all my Nikon gear for a Canon 5D MarkIV. But if I could pick up a refurb 810, I might go that route.

I will let you know when the D810 arrives from Adorama. I just looked again at the shipment email and see that it says the camera will be shipped by the end of today, whatever that means. But when it's here I'll answer your questions.

nikonbrain, if you got your refurb thru Nikon, it probably will look new. Not so sure about other vendors. In any case, it is good to learn you got a good one. Well.........it should look new with only 300 original?? shutter actuations.

The D810 is one of the finest cameras made by Nikon. It's worth more than the difference of $200.

I have a D750 and I am giving some thot to trading/selling my D750 for a D810 or possibly a D500. But I am leaning more toward the 810. I am just a hobby photographer and I don't need both. IF I had known more about the AA filter, I would never have purchased the D750.

I got the D810 refurb from Adorama today. It does not come in a Nikon box, but the box included new accessories that I have verified are the exact complement you get when you buy this camera new. The body looks (and smells) brand new; no scratches or dings or mars or defects on the screen. Shutter count is 710. Absolutely no literature comes with the refurbished camera except a card that refers you to NikonUSA to download a manual. I downloaded it. It's ~550 pages and free. Thom Hogan's Guide to the Nikon D810 is nearly 1,000. I consider this purchase a major success.
