Thank you, Donna, for your post on how to bend the Composer Pro properly. I don't have it mastered by a long shot because, using it handheld, I have a problem pinpointing the focus. I just have to use the tripod - resisitance is futile!

I used the Double Glass optic wide open - no aperture discs. As that old saying goes, "Back to the drawing board!"

The bending on this one is very slight, so it didn't have much effect.

I missed the focus altogether on this one, but like it anyway.

All look beautiful to me, Cathy, and you make me glad I posted the 'lesson'. When I first posted I was very sorry I did. Your work is always lovely...and Lensbaby agrees!!

I, for one, am VERY glad you posted that "how to." Later today, if the smoke isn't too thick, I plan on going out again with an aperture disc of around f4 or f5.6, and see what I can do. And, I suppose I'd better take a tripod. Then I can use the LCD screen to focus.

Cathy..here's a little trick. Start with an f/8 or even more and do your initial focus. Then bend, focus and sneak your aperture over to whatever you like.

They look beautiful to me, Cathy!! I don't bend my baby's neck, just can't get the hang of it, but it's great that you're trying it out with wonderful results!! I love the artistic painterly look, especially on #1.... but they are all so dreamy with glorious colors!! Gotta love those babies!!!

This is one of those more "difficult" learning curves, Angela. I determined I'm going to master it instead of the other way around. lol! If I persevere, with Donna's guidance, I'll succeed.

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment and thumb!

I know what you mean. I just think that I ought to master this after Donna posted the technique. I want to master that bending, and for me, I think part of the key is to use a tripod. It's a botheration, but I'd better get more self-disciplined and use one. (I sure am rolling those eyes a lot lately... lol!)

So far, the smoke is almost non-existent here on the valley floor, although the sky has a brown cast from smoke at higher elevations. So, I will be going out around 7:30 this evening when the light will be optimal. I hope I don't blow it!

That's terrible about the air... I pray that fire and smoke ends soon. Good luck tonight, Cathy and can't wait to hear and see how you do!! I think if ever I shoot a landscape I might try to bend, it might be a little easier than using it for closeups.

Very nice, Cathy! I always love seeing your experiments. They're always so helpful, and keep the rest of us going. With the Lensbabies, it's experiment, experiment, and sometimes delete, delete! But practice makes perfect so they say. Thanks for sharing!
