Spent most of last week combing through the mountains of Southwest Colorado. We visited historic mining towns like Ouray, Telluride, Silverton and several old mining ghost towns. One of the always fun side trips for me is driving the Last Dollar Road. Weather was mostly good this day and so was the road. After you crest and head down to Deep Creek, the road is impassable except for high clearance 4X4's. I know, I tried...huge, deep mud holes washed out the road!

My favs are 4,7 and 9 but like them all.

I would love to see that part of our country, and do hope I can visit and enjoy its beauty firsthand.

Beautiful. Question: Do cars suffer from altitude sickness (or lack of oxygen) like people do? You indicate that you were at an altitude of over 11,000 feet.

The older cars and trucks used to sometimes get "vapor lock" at such altitudes. The air/gasoline mixture in the carburator of the engine would change so that it would stall out.

I immediately imagined your first two shots in the fall when the aspens are in their glorious fall color. I plan a trip to Colorado in mid-late September to shoot the fall color and will try to get to those spots. Beautiful - thanks for posting.
