If you have been following this one you must know by now.

Best key for entry might just be your local papers that enjoy getting fotos and stories from different asoects and from different folk.

Good luck

sourdough58, you could be a little more complete in your disclosure. Your affiliation is with a "public access" television system that streams programming over a cable network and/or the internet. There is a world of difference between what is generally referred to as "public" television, a broadcast medium, and "public access" television, which does not broadcast its programming.

Yes, in hindsight I should have been little more complete in my disclosure, I did not because what was asked was "How to obtain a media pass?" and if you are going to supply a Local access station with pictures or video you have every right to identify with that station, but I did say " local access tv station", it's "public" and anyone can send in pictures and info. Most cities and some towns have "Public access stations".

Google how to buy a press pass. You'll see.

What ever you do don't try to make one for yourself.
This could get you arrested or at least held for questioning, With all the things going on, shootings etc. I'm sure that wouldn't go over good.
Its been my experience shooting for AP that media members only get to shoot 2-3 songs max, so don't think you are going to get to shoot the whole show.
Get with the local papers and get on "the list" Even media members are normally put on the list in advance.
Even with media credentials they always check the list and issue credentials for the event whether it be a concert or a sporting event.

Most places won't be fooled by a home-made press pass, mostly because they tend to check the sponsoring media organization. Best bet is to work with the venue ahead of time, explain that you're a freelancer, in which case you may have to provide examples of previous work. If you have a gig from a publication, they can get you a pass.
