And if the JPG is edited or downsized and loses the EXIF info, you can use the program I mentioned earlier in this thread {PhotoME} to Export the EXIF info from the original and Import it back into the edited file !!!

If you have an Apple Macintosh, open the JPEG in Preview and under the Tools menu, select Show Inspector (Command-I) and click on the EXIF tab. Gives you all kinds of stuff, including shutter actuations.

All they need do is right click on the file and look at properties. The detail tab gives all the info. It is most certianly there on jpegs.
It is how you send the photo to the other party. Most of the time it will tell you that you might lose exfi data.
