The first three photos were shot on a whim. I had been shooting indoors and decided to go outside and do something different for a few minutes. These were shot at f16 for depth and I used the on camera flash for fill and to help offset breeze induced motion. It was a very overcast day but I was pleased with the results.
The last two shots are just pretties from the garden that were shot on another day.

Very nice set! Well shot.
Nice grouping...I really like the first and the last the most. But the entire set is well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Laura. I am growing the Fennel as a host plant for Swallowtail butterflies but so far it hasn't attracted any. At least the flowers are pretty!

Thank you, Jim. We have sunshine today after several days of rain and I was in the mood for bright flowers!

Carol, you have some very nice photographs. I really enjoy backyard gardens where I can just go out with my camera and get lost in taking pictures. The cosmos are starting to come up.
Great shots.

Thank you, Gary. I agree that it is special to be able to just walk out and find a subject. I love the beauty of the Cosmos but unfortunately they don't survive long with our heat.
