I agree. But where have you been? They have been doing that for as long as I can remember. And im 82. We need to get those guys moving out every two years. And I mean both sides. Their in there to look after this country not to line their own pockets.

I agree, I think there is a petition online for congressional term limits.

True. Only term limits, 6 years max, with controls on how much money they have when coming in and transparency at all transactions will bring us what we need. Representation!

I recently took a 10 week on-line course on the Constitution (Hillsdale College) and it's enough to make one cry when you realize how far we have drifted from what our Founders intended this country to be and why our Constitution was written as it is.

I agree with both of you - Opus and Jack and the next question is are we prepared to fight for this reform - to make our collective we, the people voices heard?

I think that asking the US House Of Representitives to vote on term limits is like asking your horse to saddle himself...or telling your employer I want you to fire me in 2 ,4 or 6 years...

As I have said before...we have term limits in place...and they are called elections...it takes about 30 or 40 minutes a month to check the voting record of your congressman or senator on the web...we spend more time each month walking to the mailbox...we get the politicians we deserve...
I started doing this about 4 years ago and I was horrified by the choices made by the people I voted for.

On the other hand...I blame the media for politicians not paying attention to governing...they are too busy scrambling for the right sound bite to get them elected again...Sorry Mrs Obama...I dont care about your favorite foods..I dont care what kind of dogs the president has...and it goes on and on and on...

The problem is that Congress would have to pass their own term limits. It seems to me that there could be two roots to this 1. Get the money out of politics, this would to a very large extent fix the problems that exist and term limits would be less important. Along with this we need effective Congressional oversight to prevent bills being passed to the financial benefit of legislators. 2. A true grassroots movement where people frankly tell the elected official: No term limits, no vote for you. Take it or leave it.

We are fighting now, well a little. If you mean with guns like a real revolution, it may have to come to that but not during my life. We had shooting wars, cold wars and proxy wars to keep communism at bay. They are here now in full force and call themselfs democrats. What a trojan horse.

A true example of government at work...

A Massachusetts mayor is taking inspiration from a controversial New York City proposal to ban large, sugary beverages – and might even want to take it a step further.

Cambridge Mayor Henrietta Davis unveiled a proposal that would outlaw large-size sodas and other sugary drinks in area restaurants to the City Council on Monday.

She’s also suggesting that city officials consider banning free refills of sugary beverages, which would be a step beyond New York City’s plan.

“Our environment is full of way too many temptations,” Davis said. “This is one temptation that isn’t really necessary.”

The move comes on the heels of a proposal by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg earlier in the month to ban sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces in New York City. That ban would apply at restaurants, food carts and any other establishments that receive letter grades for food service, but it would not apply to grocery stores.

So what else are you doing to help the citizens???

And this for some reason is front page news...go figure.

Big Brother, where are you when we need you? Fellow citizens, if we don't vote out idiots like this, we absolutely deserve what we get.
