Computer to memory card

Can anyone tell me how to load pictures from my computer back to a memory card? ( Using Windows 7 ).

First question why? That aside, try windows explorer. Hopefully it will treat the card as any device.

If the computer can see the memory card, COPY & PASTE should work. I just tried it and it did work (using Windows 10 but that shouldn't matter).

Stick SDCard or memory stick in computer slot on your tower. Go to File, select pictures you want to copy and/or transfer, right click, copy or cut, go to drive holding SD Card, paste...and you should have it/them.

Yes, that works fine - going back years, with older versions of Windows.

Seems to me that I did that once and the images were not able to be viewed by the camera.

I think you're correct, I just checked and the camera did not see the photo I Cut & Pasted. The computer saw it so it depends what the
purpose of the OP is.

First of all, the ONLY reason that I would move anything back onto a memory card is for transfer to another computer. That being said, I have a couple of usb card readers that I use. These readers (essentially) make the inserted card appear to the computer as an additional external drive. I can copy anything to my external card just as if it was a jump drive or any other external drive (which of course it is). I do have a few 4gb, 8gb, 16gb and 32gb cards that I use for this. These cards have all been replaced in my "camera bag" by larger or faster cards but are still usable.

Some cameras may not? One time I rotated an image on a card by computer, the camera would no longer display the image.

Those who cautioned that the camera may not be able to properly read the card or at least the copied files are correct. Some cameras in my experience can do it. But my Sony's cannot. The reason appears to be that there is a "database" on the card, put there by the camera and maintained by the camera. If you put something on the card that the database doesn't "know" about, then the camera can't use it.
When you put a new card in the camera, if the camera tells you it is formatting or preparing (or similar terms) the card, then it seems likely to me that it's doing what I described in the paragraph above.

I moved the photos from camera to computer to correct some of the photos.
brightness, color etc,
Now I need to put them back on the memory card.

Using Windows format tool, format the card then you can make the transfer.

Yes, you can use the card the same as you would a USB flash drive. But please heed the caution in my previous comment. Putting it on the card is not necessarily equal to putting it into the card's file structure so that the camera will see it. This goes for deleting files, too.
