From all indications, this little lady has young ones. I'm just waiting for her to bring them along. She has supper with the raccoons almost every evening.

Two things, one, is it just the angle, or is her right ear cropped? 2, when you say supper with the racoons do you mean - side by side, or, are the coons on the menu?

Her right ear does have a piece missing, Blueduck. Her left
ear also has "notches"; three of them. My wife and I are wondering if these are the results of a fight or if they could
be some type of identification put there by someone who raised her. Some fox hunters in this area do raise and release them.

I have seen nothing to indicate that the reccoons are on the menu. :-) I put dog food in a small kettle and they both eat out of it.

I am posting two photos that show the above.

I am amazed you got this shot; they try to stay out of human sight.

This one is a little different. Since she has little ones, she might be extra hungry. I don't try to hide from her. I set my chair in plain sight in the yard about 20-30 feet from the food around 8:00 P.M. and wait. I have gotten within 10 feet of her a couple of times when I was trying to get her to move away from the food so I could get a better shot where I wouldn't have to clone it out.

Thanks for your comments.

Those are beautiful. My cats share meals with a opposum. Sad to think that people raise them, then let them out to kill them if I understood that correctly.

I hope you can watch the fox for a long long time.

Great shots! Is this a grey fox? I have recently stumbled upon a red fox den. I have been ther 3 seperate times, and never saw the momma. The kits(3) are fearless. Get all the shots you can, as every day older they get, the more thier natural instincts kick in, and they get harder to capture. I eventually got some nice ones, I can post if you want.

Keep looking for the kits!
