[quote=MadMike]After finding a problem I had the last few days, I wonder if you had a HOOD on your lens. If you shoot at a side angle to the sun it can cause that grain-haze look. I figured it out after trying to take pictures of birds for two days, then put a hood on, and what a diffeence.
I bet a hood would help! It hasn't become second nature to use it...yet. Thank you!!!

Thanks Nikonover. I recently started setting it to 100 or 200. Sometimes when the light gets low I have to bump it up.
Fran, when you're shooting people, use spot metering, zoom into the face to take your reading then set the camera on manual (lock it in) that way the exposure won't change if the spot lands on the light top or the darker background.

You may need to adjust the exposure--based on the lightness/darkness of the individual player's skin. This is where a reflective light meter is helpful-- or meter something you know to approximate 18% gray and go with that.

Looks ok for what it is .if you knew the player it would mean something. I would leave the player on the left because he is not interfearing he's another
Player . It tell's you its not posed its a actual baseball game going on.

I like this. I use Picasa for all my sports post editing. Like this one:
I took a quick shot at it...
I practiced my touch ups on this one too...

Here is another take on your fine image, I wish it had been a higher resolution. Thanks for the chance.

I shot this image this evening and it is over exposed. It also appears grainy. I would really appreciate your thoughts. Is it because of the ISO???
I was using a Canon T2i body with a Canon 70-300 L IS USM lens. Normally I don't have a problem like this with this combo.
A number of the images I shot appeare over exposed. The images when the ISO was at 500 or lower are fine.
My camera was set at shutter priority. ISO automatic.
Many thanks!!!!
