Nr. Little Langdale, Lake District
I like this image, it appeals to me greatly. Love how the dark hills stand out against the light, the very dark upper clouds, the bright reflections on the lake. Layers of mood - a beam of light on the building perhaps, but I DO like it as it is, an easily overlooked guest to the real act - the gloomy hills.

Thank you Piet, you do seem to interpret the image as I intended. A little darker here than on my computer, but pretty much what I was after doing. Your comments are appreciated.
I've looked at the versions and read the comments. I am not surprised that Piet likes it as is, his eye for darkness is more discerning than most.
First off, this is a really beautiful image, well composed, moody, rich though muted in tones, much like a painting. I like the second (brighter) version best, but still want to see just a bit more of the building, wanting to extend that light beam that rests on the water to loan some definition to the building's edges. I recognize that this is simply my preference, and I still find it beautiful whichever way it's presented.

That may well help Min, especially given the way it loads-up rather darker than expected. I'll try printing (when our visitors are done) and see how it turns out. You will have seen my excuse for tucking the house so tightly into the corner.
Many thanks for your suggestion and comments, appreciated as always.
