I am simply amazed at the quality of photos posted in the Gallery by people who consider themselves amatures. I clearly have a lot to learn even after all of these years. Very glad I found this forum. Looking forward to learning.

Seriously though - the folks here have lots of good advice and a couple of days of experience and are willing share what they can - don't hesitate to ask detailed questions, in fact, the more details, the more accurate the answer ;)

I guess you have not been around to many photographers forums yet. Welcome.

I could not help it. Poor fellow is clearly very easily impressed.
You will also be amazed at some of the images not posted. Many don't post their really good images.

If someone calls themselves an amateur they may mean they never sell their work, thus not a professional. That same person could have decades worth of experience and know more than some professionals who are just starting out. The gallery here does showcase the efforts of many amateurs of varying experience and knowledge. Feel free to explore all of the other sections where you may find a lot different types of images. Just don't go in the Attic. Nothing there worthwhile. Welcome to UHH.

Thank you all for your replies. And no, I have not been apart of many photography forums. Most of what I have learned has come from my dad who past away in 1980 and from talking to professionals when I can or on my own. I think I will gain a wealth of knowledge here that I would not otherwise have access to . Thanks again. Kerry
