Today, these Wood Ducks came out better than another pair I shot a month ago at
the same distance. I don't know why. Luck? Lighting?

Hand held @ 800mm.

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 400 II DO f4 - Canon 2.0x III - 1/500 - f/11 - ISO @ 1000.

They are pretty little ducks. This is a good shot of them.

I never saw it but my Dad and a friend had a story about watching a pair get the babies out of the nest. Little fuzzy cannon balls bouncing on the thick dead leaves in the woods and then toddling off in line with Mom leading and Dad following towards the lake for their first swim.

That's a nice story. I'm a sucker for cuteness. I wish I could get closer to these pretty ducks for more detail.

Thank you very much, Robert.

Thanks for sharing Regis ! - They are very skittish in the wild !.......my best (wild) shots came from my car using my car pod and Canon 300 2.8 W/2XII on a crop frame body.

Beauty. To be pedantic it's two males rather than "a pair".😊
