Hi all,
Looking for suggestions for a wide angle lens for my D7200. Was looking at either the Tamron 10-24mm f 3.5,the Sigma 10-20mm f4 or Tokina AT-X PRO DX 11-20 mm f/2.8(Nikon is just too expensive for me right now).
Already have a Tamron 18-270 and like this lens (build, customer support ) a lot but wondering if others have tried these other lenses and their feedback. I've read the reviews and each has pluses and minuses. Primary usage would be outdoor landscape and to a lesser degree architectural

I use a Rokinon 8mm DX lens on my 7200. It's an f3.5 and a good lens and fun to work with.

Tamron new 10-24mm G2 model is available now, it's a nice upgrade to thir original and still only $499, still comes with their 6 year warranty too.

I bit the bullet and bought the Nikon 10-24 lens for my D5300. Bought used from B&H for $679. It is in perfect condition. I use it for interior home shots mostly.

I've got a Sigma 10-20 that I use for construction progress shots of building interiors and it does a very good job on a D5300.

Thanks to all for your advice and input. I'm most likely going to head over to my local photo store (luckily they carry all 3 brands and sell only US-authorized products) and check them out on my 7200. Good thing I'm getting a nice tax refund :)

I bought a Vivitar 8 mm lens to use on my Nikon D7100. It was very reasonably priced and is a fun lens to use.
It is quite sharp and of course, has amazing depth of field. It does, however, have a bit of chromatic aberration
that shows up as colour fringing when you "blow up" an image.

Thanks for the reply. I did see this however for my needs, a fisheye wouldn't serve my purposes. I could be a fun lens to have but my wife is already thinking I like my camera more than I like her with all the things I've accumulated over the years including my Beseler Dichro 67 enlarger and color lab.

If you're doing architectural, as much as I love the Rokinon 8mm, I couldn't recommend it since it is a fisheye.
I would look up lens reviews for the ones you are interested in, and pay special attention to its distortion and corner sharpness tests.

And if you combine the Rokinon/Samyang with the Fisheye-Hemi software for post processing, you can get an amazing wide-angle. The FH straightens out the barrel distortion so you get 180 degree wide angle.

I have the original Tamron 10-24mm and would recommend that you get a 10-24 and not a 10-20, because you'll find that the 24mm comes in handy. The original is a fine lens, the Nikon version is a bit sharper, but I'm intrigued about what the new Tamron version is like. You will really like a 10-24mm on your 7200. With my D7000, the 10-24mm and 28-300 were the only 2 lenses I needed.

Again, thanks to all. After reading all the replies, I'm heading for the Tamron 10-24 mmbut the newer version. Solid reviews and if ever something goes wrong, it has a 6-yr warranty and when I did have a problem with my 18-270mm, they fixed it by giving me a news lens (thanks to Cameta for helping on that).
I'm thinking that except for some special uses for my other prime lens, this and the 18-270 will be the most used in my camera case. Will post pictures after the BBT pulls up to my house.
