And the Dual IS function replaces the need for that one f stop. BTW, the 12-100 focuses down so close that you should be looking out for "macro" opportunities. It's a great lens.

For the range that it covers and its over all abilities, it really is. I was very close to choosing it for our trip to Germany this year. But knowing that I need something wider than 12mm and wanting to be able to go to 200mm kept me from buying it. The handheld pictures that I've seen at 5 and 10 seconds are impressive.
