I just wish the printer ink was not so expensive...

Check these guys out . . . you really can save up to 95% on ink . . and no more running out in the middle of a print.. I have used them for years and have been really happy. It takes a little tweaking to get the color adjusted just so . . . and then you're good to go!

I print because pictures I feel family pictures hanging on a wall make a house a home.

Printing is the goal for my images. Of course I love to share on the web but to me there is nothing better than to see an image I took printed and looking the way I want it to. It's the icing on the cake, it's why I shoot and they make nice gifts. I recently gave one of my images to a friend for his birthday and he called me and said it meant so much to him that I would give such a personal gift that I made just for him. Made me feel great.
Bingo---couldn't have said it better myself. Have just done the same thing for a friends b-day and she loved it. I shoot, edit and print my enlargements of my best photos for my portfolio which I can bring out anytime someone asks to see my work. You can see your true work on a print that is seldom the same as looking at a monitor of any size............

I did my family history as well. Grandma was quite the shutterbug. After her death her prints wound up spread across the country with various family members. I worked the phones, got all of the prints (standard sized photo prints are a recent development, what a hassle to scan!), burned the whole lot of them to DVDs and returned the prints to their former custodians. Now everyone has everything and are able to make superior prints to the originals.

My Epson claims 200+ years . . . I plan on sticking around to make sure I haven't been "ripped off"!

But will Epson be around in 200 years? And if they are, how will honor that claim? Free ink?

If I'd have known the world would end that soon, I would have suggested to Epson that they claim 400 years!

I never printed my own photos and now I feel that they look so much better on the computer or the tv screen. I have thousands of old prints that I have to scan and make them digital.
But there are those times, like the family reunion, they want photo albums, so I go in and print the photos that need to go into the book. But it is a hassle...
Why don't I print my own? I don't like the look of them printed on my printer. I don't print that much anyway so getting a good photo printer just isn't something i want.
I also know people that good or bad print every digital photo they take....ugh!.....lol

A well-done print will blow away a computer/TV display. Which is not to say I do not believe you. I do.

I have seen some prints and I would like but.. To do them myself is what I can't get with my printer. I have taken classes and the pro said not to go our whole live without have a professional enlarged print of one of our shots..
I have to figure out what I would want and then do it.
My reasoning for not printing also is that I am 66 years old and would like to declutter if you know what I mean...not add to it... wish my husband would see it that way too...lol
I will not scan in my old film photos and then toss the prints away, not on my life...

At 76 sorry to hear that I was too old to make prints at 66 Ouch no one told me!! Truly printing is not as easy as it should be because every program and printer is trying to correct the color or to add it's own "color space code." Took me a while to master the screen/print as seen (almost).

Regarding man's clutter,,, hay that is why you ladies cosider that rusty wrench as junk,,, that mess on the work bench as a disorder.. when in reality we men know where a tool is,,, we recall where we put it last time we stopped using it. You clean up and think that looks good, we love the clutter. and it keeps us lively stepping over stuff in the floor.

At times, I think if I got my place girl-neat I would sit down and just die because I would not allow myself to do or disturb any thing. To just sit there and look happy and be "a father know best" smiling robot... ugh...

I have a flush handle on the kitchen floor flush system... auto cleans. I use a leaf blower to clean the SUV and ocationally the house, open the doors and windows and out goes the dust and dirt. Why can you women not get with the program. Brooms Mops etc all old classic stuff ,,, humph. I had best stop after all you are a 66 year old woman and there is no hope of de-neat-nicking you... Oh the agony of it all.

And old pic's do deteriorate. Dig tech can restore their life & can be anything you like: Prints or dig frames or whatever.

Because I chose to collate a family history of pic's etc, I've been offered all the originals. I don't want the responsibility for their future. I'm only 67 but finite. My kids don't show much promise of continuity.[of pic's] What happens when I die? they would all go to who knows where? I have what I want for my kids who grow up in this technical age & I hope they develop the interest, in family history, I have, in later life. Hard copies are a responsibility & they go off over time. I want to declutter for a quiet departure.
