I had a Sony DSC-W5, It was a nice little unit with an optical finder and manual controls, It felt like a "REAL" camera for a pocket P&S. It's somewhat thick and square body also lent to the "real" camera feel. I actually wished I kept it. My current Samsung ST201 P&S lacks a veiwfinder AND manual controls. Good luck with you new Nikon. Regardless of what ever other gear you have, a grab and go pocket P&S will let you get many photos that otherwise would be missed, and still have more options than a phone camera.

Hello, Ralph....I'm glad you like it. It really IS an underrated camera. They weren't made, I don't think, for very long, and they are rare even on ebay. When I bought my first one new, it was marked down to $99.95 at Office Depot. One nice thing is that outdoors it has an actual viewfinder...one that works in the sun. And it does pretty good video as well. As I said in my earlier post, I shot an Eric Clapton/Stevie Winwood concert with it, leaving all my other Nikons home. We were centre stage, second row, and in some of the shots I could read his watch. Really cool camera. Nyms
