I didn't mean our leaders were unstable and looking for trouble. That's why I said, "This latest Korean leader is the worst in years." I was responding to the OP's comment, " There has to be a peaceful solution to this crisis."

Thanks for the clarification. I misunderstood what you said but understand now.

The only peaceful solution would be a hole in Kim's forehead. The Kim family has ruled much to long, his subjects are programmed from birth and raised to believe that they are living a good life. Things are starting to change as technology has crept into the dark shadows away from watching eyes and young Koreans are discovering that their sad state of existence is not so good after all.

Put a large enough bounty on his head through the CIA so someone close to him does the job for us, or let the CIA itself do the job.

Spent a year in that hellhole. It seems that we veterans of this "Conflict" were also forgotten until the memorial was in place.

I will never forget you. I worked with a lot of Korean War vets and apprenticed with a Marine who was at the Chosin Reservoir. Thank God for you guys!

But - although we can turn North Korea into a wasteland if they fire the first nuclear shot, they will not. Owning a few nukes is a deterrent - they know it will keep us from invading them. I was impressed at all those WWII rifles their soldiers had marching in the parade - BUT - they do have 50,000 artillery pieces within striking distance of Seoul, and even if they only have two shells for each, they would lay waste to Seoul before conceding defeat in a conflict. And THEN - we would be responsible for providing for all those hungry masses of starving, uneducated people! Better to maintain the status quo - but it would be great if China could smack fat boy around a little bit...

If you are referring to South Koreans as being uneducated you are grossly mistaken. S. Korea ranks far higher than the US in education---- in science, math and language skills. The S. Korean educational system is far superior to the sorry excuse we have here.

DPRK may want the rest of the world to believe they have a 1 million man army but to adequately arm, supply and feed that many soldiers costs a lot of money that North Korea does not have. They are very good at producing paper machete parades in hopes of impressing the world with their invincible military might but they are mostly hungry and ill equipped. What their fat boy leader fails to recognize is there's an Ohio class submarine somewhere in the Pacific Ocean that has every major city and military instalation in NK programmed into a targeting computer and when called upon, can and will reduce North Korea to a virtual waste land.

Right on, that sub would just love to lighten their load I'll bet!!
