How do you mark your accessories for ID.

I recently was on an overnight trip with three other photographers. Coincidentally, we were all using the same Nikon camera with, of course, the same batteries and chargers, etc. During the course of things, my charger was used by one of the others who inadvertently then packed it up with their stuff, thinking it was their's. I did get it back when they discovered the error but had to impose on one of the others to charge my batteries in the interim. I realized that these small items which are not only expensive but mission critical should be identified with a mark or something. I was thinking two or three tiny drops of nail polish or something similar. How do you do it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Stick on labels with name, address and phone number. Also gps tracker sewn into the camera bag.

I use a fine point permanent silver sharpie to mark my accessories. I also put the dates that I got the batteries on them.

Good idea! I have not been in this situation with photo equipment but, as a contractor, was frequently on site with other guys with the same tools, chargers, batteries, etc. Better to be prepared "in case".

A silver sharpie works well on black items.

That's what I use. The very thin labels are durable, but can be removed as needed. /Ralph

That's exactly what I use. I have grips for both of my Canon bodies which are different, so I labeled them for the body they go on. With a P-Touch you can get various sizes of labels and put them on small items.

I mark all my stuff, on/close to the I.D. label, or inside the battery case, with the last four digits of my Social, using a vibrating engraver. If I am careful, and make it very small, it looks like part of the factory markings.
I like this method because it is not removable/noticeable to others but still provides strong evidence it is mine. Makes it easy to I. D. my stuff if recovered by the police, lost-and-found, or a pawn shop.

I ran into this problem when I travel with my brother .. we use the same chargers and batteries and one of our cameras are identical ... he lays misplaces his stuff .., and grabs mine ...I just used a tiny dab of nail polish on my 8 batteries and 3 chargers .. as for the camera ..a small mark on the battery holder and on the bottom of the camera ✔️

A silver sharpie is best as well ... couldn't find one in Yosemite .., so borrowed nail polish from a friend ..
