Here we go again...
For those of you who don't know...Canon has just announedd the Rebel T4i!!! Yippie, now I won't have to buy the 7D,which would take me a long time to save up for on SSI. Why would I need one? Faster fps! Not 3.7,but 5fps!
OK, this is only because I like to take pics at tennis matches. but there are times when my 11 year old daughter is just a little fast for me! Anyway, what to do with my Nikon D5000?
Have a wonderful weekend!
I fail to understand the rationale of going from one entry level camera to another entry level camera. If you want to move up, then move up! Sideways gets you nowhere but out more money.

Dang MT. Are we supposed to have a rationale for all our camera purchases?
Kinds takes the fun out of it doesn't it?
I thought that if you spend enough on whatever new stuff is offered, sooner or later you must end up with the perfect camera, lens and accessory system.
It sure seems that way at times when advising folks.

Well, I had alll the toys with bells and whisltles when I was a pro...from journalism to you name it ,I took the shot. Not as successful as my shirt tail cousin who was phtog of the year in '75 and chief phtog for National Geo, I did get a nice shot of Ansel when I lived In Monterey...all thoselong years ago. Like a person told me in St. Louis, who will hire a blind pthograper?" So, that's why I am not "seeing" PUN intended that I need a high end DSLR or and H4. It was a post to let everone know that Canon andall of the cam manufcterers..will keep the race gong strong. If I did have the $ to get what I could only dream of owning..SSI would be taken rightfully away. The Nikon D5000 does take a nice image, I just like the feel of the Canon better and get tis I can see the text on the LCD easier..no magnifying glas required. Gee, I hope thisisn't ladden with typos.as I have to relearn the keypad..No sarcasm intended..OK?
:Like my southern buddies say..'Y'all have a good night and get those award winning images!
Steve

why switch systems? Just wait a bit. Nikon is NOT done announcing new dslrs yet.
And "They" meaning "ALL" the camera manufacturers will never be through upgrading and announcing new cameras - the computer age is like a down hill run away truck - just no stopping it.
I say buy what you like and can afford - you are the only one who needs to be satisfied - let your consonance be your guide.

From reading your post I believe you are really more comfortable with the Canon, so by all means that sir is what you should get. From moving from the advertised 4 fps on the Nikon to 5 fps of the canon would not make a deal breaker for me though the newer digic processor and low/high iso improvements sway the boat back to canon. Let me finish by saying, buy what you want and enjoy it!!!
Yes...I could keep it just for a backup..or give it to my 11 year old daughter...when 13 if she behaves...hello
Just like the ski industry......you can't get down the hill with last years skis...... :-D
You must have a nikon lens or two...why would you change to a Canon? If your staying with a cropped sensor I'd take a hard look at the D3200.

Wait until next month. You'll have another plethora of new choices.
The Camera industry could care less about anything but their bottom line. Remember they are not in business to make cameras, they are in business to get their hands on your money.

Take a good look at the specs. The new T4i shoots 5fps compaired to the 7D 8fps. 19 focus points on the 7D compaired to 9 The 7D is still the better camera.

How serious can a camera with the name Rebel be ?
