Turn off your tracking cookies, problem solved.
I did that for many years, but these days most useful sites refuse me as a client if I don't allow them full cookies ... and much of the information Chrome could report back to Google {names of web-sites I visit, for example} could be quietly accumulated by Chrome regardless of what settings I use.

For example, knowing that I visit UHH and Pentax Forum would be enough to sell my information to someone who wants to market photo gear to me.

I use Chrome both on my laptop and Kindle Fire. Stable and loads faster than IE or Firefox.

I've used Firefox for 15 years or more, but recently moved to Chrome. Firefox began to slow down in the face of all the excess Javascript routines and other "stuff." For the last four months it has been just Chrome and it has worked well. There are a few things I miss from Firefox, but it's just a relearning. MS Edge is very nice, but seems too complicated and too intrusive--it "calls home" too much for my liking.

+1 for moving from Firefox to Chrome (maybe 3 months ago). FF just got slow and started hanging. Have not tried Edge. Last time I used IE was when I installed something that required me to go through IE for the installation (maybe 5 years ago?).
