I was leary of the higher ISO settings myself, and some shots the noise does show more than I would like Lightroom seems to deal with the noise well enough.
I was at the same zoo, a year ago and was taking some shots inside one of the enclosures for the monkeys and apes and was nicely surprised with some shots of the organgutan, I had to check the ISO settings a couple times, there was no noticable noise. Have fun enjoy the Zoo and Safari.

Very possible... did about 4000 miles there last year....
I do a lot of shooting of pictures out there also... Say Hi if you see me... Always fly an american flag on the bike when I am out
