Layers are fun, do quite a bit of them and flush many but it is only practice and one of these days I might get serious....don't wait up

Pat, you always carry out your goals and then move on even further. Your photography displays that. I'm sure we will see some more great work by you.

Thanks, Irene. Can't say that I do, but at least I am "aiming" for something.

1. Scout within a 1 1/2 hour drive radius for some awesome landscapes. Easy in the Pacific NW.
2. High Dynamic Range Photography. I've never tried it and would like to.
3. Work on studio lighting techniques for pet photography.
4. Increase knowledge of how exposure, aperture and shutter speed effects and hopefully aesthetically pleases me with the photos I take this year.

Really like these goals/resolutions, Golden Rule.

Hi Irene,

I have subscribed to LRCC & Photoshop CC for almost 3 years. I use Photoshop for PP. Last year I decided to create and use a LR catalog. However, I still do not import via LR. I have my own system. So, my New Year resolution was to learn LR. I decided to redo my entire Photo Drive organization as a first step. Began yesterday by creating a new folder, called Photos 1-15-17, on one of my 3 external drives. I have always stored my photos by year/folder name/photos. Not a very good system. After reorganizing, I will create a new catalog in LR and import the newly categorized folder, Photos 1 - 15 - 17. I have Scott Kelby's LightroomCC book and access to youtube and Kelbyone for tutorials and learning. I'm about half finished with the re categorizing. Before I import to LR, I'll reformat my dedicated internal Photo Drive and import my new Photos 1 - 15 - 17 folder from the external drive. I backup my three internal drives to externals and the Cloud. I'm pretty excited about the new approach to photo cataloging.

Thanks for the post and good luck on your pp and exposure endeavors.

What have you set for your resolution or goals for the new year.

Mine are working on exposure when I am shooting and learning more about my pp software. Also working to get better photos from my cell phone.

I am away from home for the long weekend and did not bring my laptop. For some reason I cannot get my phone images to attach.

Let's see what your goals are and show us some examples.

Great goal! You remind me that I need to backup my LR catalog to one of 2 new Seagates I purchased this past November.

RĂ©solutions are made to be broken ....so I do

What I did here was #1 + #2 = #3

#1, a similar shot but it does the job

And now I owe a poem
A good resolution is in line,
And to me that would be fine,
But I draw a line, when I don't know 'em
