👍We've been cool the past few days but I think we are warming up starting today.

Mine too.

Thanks muggings, and I discarded several similar images because the snow was falling so fast that you could hardly see the bird!

What a wonderful early Christmas gift!!! Corky, these are fantastic shots of one of the most beautiful birds!!! I don't know if you do, but putting oranges out and also grape jelly (not jam) attracts them and you should put them it out early, so they know it's there.

Quite a few years ago, we had a pair that nested in our huge maple... their nests are amazing how they build it to hang. For some reason the parents abandoned the nest with 5 babies, this was in June around Father's Day.. we heard lots of noise and went around our pool and thankfully the 5 babies jumped the nest and missed the pool by about a foot. I took them in and began feeding them canned cat food... yup!! I used a straw cut on an angle and it resembled a beak. They started to get their feathers and I gave them to an animal rescue until they were old enough to fly... wonderful experience!

Wonderful set and seeing these made my day!!
Enjoy!!!

Thanks, Angela and that is one great story and love the happy ending----Sure wish that they would have returned to your home and showed some appreciation!! We were so much in hopes that they ones in the past Spring would stay and nest. I thought about what you told me when I downloaded these and practiced downloading one picture first. Satisfied that it worked erased it and took Bella outside, before starting the real download, and not thinking, did all the top part before starting downloading the images. Though about what you had told me, but after taking more time writing than I would like to admit, started the downloads, first download ok-- after several errors second download ok--third download ok after less errors Four through seven seemed to go better and after number 7 prepared to click send when first note came in from viewer saying no downloads received! Oh no, after all that work didn't want to start all over. Remembered that I had made one small change in text so went back and hit revise I think, and still nothing so hit revise on all 7 images but made no change and happen to look down and people were responding to the pictures!! Thank God!!

Corky, that's some ordeal you had while posting!!! If I every have to update anything, I always copy whatever I wrote in the description, just in case it disappears... they I click paste! Makes it easy!!

I've been putting oranges and jelly out the end of April every year since that first pair. I see them flying around, but they don't come to my yard!! I even went as far as to have their songs play on speaker from my phone to lure them in!! lol... nothing seems to help!!
So I'm really glad I got to view yours shots!!

Thanks Angela, and inadvertently failed to thank you for the generous three thumbs up! Along with what you are using you might also try some mealworms placed in a little basket similar to ours. The baskets are less than three dollars at Walmart and I initially put one out attempting to attract the bluebirds. It took several months but now they frequent them very often. And that is where we spotted the first Oriole last March and also this this one! Most of the time he goes for the Birdberry Jelly first(a grape/blackberry mixture that I purchased from Wild birds Unlimited) that they claimed is even better than Smuckers Grape Jelly, but anyway he still goes to the mealworms sometimes also, probably for the protein. He has also visited the oranges several times. and incidentally the house finches really love the oranges! PS I'll have to practice the copy, paste method that you suggested, but have only used it on images. Need to attend computer 101 classes but don't believe any are offered around here! Thanks for the help and take care!
