That's my hope also, mffox and thanks for stopping by. I suppose you were looking at the two images above that I sent to Photosmoke (Phil).

It was really strange as I had been waiting for more than two hours and seeing nothing and after seeing a large hawk decided to go inside and go on the Hogg. I happen to look out of the window in a few minutes and the birds were back, so grabbed the camera and headed back outside, Once I had setup, called Phil instead of sending a message, and while talking the Oriole appeared so grabbed the camera with my free hand and took the above images along with several others, while talking to him! unbelivable! Take care!

It's clear that you need to work on your pose directing. You have the guy's legs spread way too wide. The poor guy looks confused! I can just hear you saying "Look left, look left! Look right, look right! Look either left or right so I can take the picture!"

Of course, I am just kidding. I hope this little guy sticks around so you can show us more photos of him. He sort of cute and photogenic.

Thanks, wdross, and you wouldn't believe how much time that I've put in trying to get a decent side shot! He came in for a landing yesterday on a half section of a orange, stayed for just a second and then landed on a limb in good view, but before I could get the camera on him he had jumped behind some thick branches, and that's the way it's been going! Oh well, will try again today and like you said just hope he sticks around and the hawk doesn't catch him! Tale care!

Beautiful shots of the Baltimore. I love these birds. I was in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas recently and got to see and photograph the Alimara Oriole. Very beautiful like the Baltimore. Very nice shots.

Thanks Walter and I just checked out the Atlamara in the Peterson field Guide book and agree about it's a beauty! We saw our first Baltimore Oriole in mid March of 2016 as Ellen happened to look out of the window towards a dogwood tree in our front yard and said what's that bird on the mealworm feeder! We broke out the binoculars and could hardly believe our eyes. After about two weeks another one joined the male, quite a bit smaller, more yellow in color, but also had a black head and was molting pretty severely, and they both stayed together for about three weeks and then left and we were devastated! We watched for many days hoping they would return but no luck. Then on January 21st of this year again we saw a large male on the same mealworm feeder. He has been with us since then except for a brief no show for about four or five days in a row several weeks ago. That's another reason we hesitate about leaving home as we are keeping the feeders stocked with dried mealworms, oranges cut in half and Smuckers Grape jelly Corky!

Thanks for the info. I agree the Oriole and the Altamira Oriole are beautiful birds. This is one of the birds I shot in Texas.
