My D810 is mated with a Nikon 24-120 f4. My D7200 has a Nikon 18-300 f3.5/6.3 attached. My D5500 has a Nikon 18-55 VR II living on the front. They each serve the purpose I need them to fill perfectly. 810 is for when I go out with the specific purpose of just taking photos. 7200 is for travel. 5500 is for hiking.
The Canon EF-S 17~55mm f/2.8 IS is very nearly always on my EOS Rebel T6s (The 17~55mm f/2.8 is rather more versatile than a body-cap). The EOS 80D is usually parked on an EF 100~400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II. The 100~400mm is a wonderful hammer, a hammer which uncannily recategorizes most of the world's visible phenomena as nails.
