Here, have a mirror, better yet, take a selfy of your own whatever you use to 'speak' with. Either way, it is a stink hole.

Why? Because the truth hurts? Get a life and learn to take a properly exposed shot. Start your own photo forum, this is not your site - you are just a guest like everyone else.

Yesterday, I went on line and checked out some software I've been interested in for a while. I installed the Nik Collection- it's free and downloading and installing were done in under 15 minutes. Now to start playing with it. Many of you have done some very nice work with Nik.

Then I checked out Topaz - another one that has impressed me. The whole package goes for 500 bucks! Individual parts, like Glow, can be had for 40 to 50 bucks. My question: is it worth it? I'd appreciate your opinions on this or any other packages you might enjoy working with.

My primary processing software is Elements 13.

Thanks for any constructive advice.

Dennis

To answer you basic question about a $500 plug-in package, NO! This is my way of saving cash and getting fast/easy/professional RAW post editing.

Purchase Capture One Pro (C1). It's not a pixel popper but does 99% of what is needed plus either cataloging or sessions not just one.

C1 initial cost $270, or $300 minus an ambassador discount of 10%. (It's 50% off for schools, etc.) Minor upgraded and new camera abilities, (http://www.phaseone.com/en/Products/Software/Capture-One-Pro/Supported-Cameras.aspx), are free. A major change comes out about a year apart and costs $90, ($100 minus ambassador discount of 10%), which I only do about every other year.

After the initial cost, C1 has basically cost me $45 per year. For that I get to keep three different copies of that version forever and you'll find just about all those "plug-ins" are already included!

***My latest workload: Friday, I downloaded and processed 210 RAW photos as quality 8x10 pictures and loaded the finished jpegs on a USB memory stick ready for printing in less than one hour! (Actually two hours but that included having to recharge my dslr battery and eating a snack!)
