Regrew my beard at age 80. It hides the wrinkles, & much cheaper than plastic surgery.

I am hesitant to comment but Jerry, I think it's sexy. The model is gorgeous that doesn't hurt the look.

Not dealing with beards, but with today's fashion: to wear a long tailed shirt not tucked looks terrible (IMHO)
What I think is worse, is wearing it under a suit or sport jacket!

Fads:
When I was in HS, Asbury Park, NJ, we(some guys) began to wear tee shirts with ties.

Most guys would slick their hair (Vaseline or Bryl Cream) and wear a curl dangling down the forehead (ala Tony Curtis, aka Bernie Schwartz - movie idol at the time).

We wore,"beebop" collar dress shirts. (ala Billy Eckstine) (I wonder if any one else knows of these) - see below photo

We always had our collars pulled up around our necks.

Decided to grow a beard in the late 60's. Had it for 4 years and decided to shave it off. I came out of the bathroom and my two year old younger daughter, took one look and said, That's a new Daddy"! I immediately started to grow it back and have had it for almost 50 years.

In the 60's/70's I made and wore tie dyed tee shirts.

smoked pot in the 70's

almost always wear jeans now

Have I changed my basic personality, beliefs, opinions, customs, values?? You better believe it, but I still think I'm a good citizen, courteous and obey laws (most)
Fads come & go. They do not make people. People will always have fads. Think back. Remember some that would be frowned upon today? Care to describe a few?

Somehow, we got convinced that men don't have to shave before going out somewhere special. There are special electric razors that let men shave, but leave enough stubble behind to look the way they do. Does anyone else think this is ridiculous?

.

That look has been popular since Miami Vice. There was an electric called The Miami Device to achieve the look.
