I'm about to be 80 next month. Have "one of those close beards", have had a beard for 50 years of various lengths. What's the big deal??

There isn't one (a big deal, that is) This is just a chance to express one's opinion/opinions. You know what they say; opinions are like, uh, well, everyone has one. There is no right or wrong, just personal preference.I'm sure there are those who won't like my appearance. I don't care, one way or the other. By the way, I like your avatar beard.

Look at it this way; Jesus had a beard. And God is one who put hair on man's face; should tell you something.

Good point about baldness. I am pretty much bald and there isn't anything I am going to do about it. So, if some don't like my fad, I'm screwed

Baldness can be overcombed.

I agree, but it is amusing watching some of our fellow old boys hanging on as if it mattered.

My whisker station.

Somehow, we got convinced that men don't have to shave before going out somewhere special. There are special electric razors that let men shave, but leave enough stubble behind to look the way they do. Does anyone else think this is ridiculous?

.

I don't mind being unshaved, but I reckon buying a special shaver to look unshaved is ridiculous.

Ever calculate the months of one's life you spend shaving? And these same people get on their kids for a fad of time wasting activities.

Yes I agree with you. You and I are apparently from an earlier generation where clean shaven men were the order of the day but not now. I happen to prefer the clean shaven look as well.

So, if a man doesn't shave then he isn't clean???? Really? Since when is shaved any cleaner than bearded? Yeah, I suppose if there are crumbs and remnants of yesterdays dinner your beard. . . . .

Yeah, but the benefits are great. Nothing like finding a tasty morsel stored in there for a snack. It can be done intentionally or by accident.
