I'm looking for a little guidance with respect to photo painting software. I have been doing some research on line and my efforts to download trial versions of either Dynamic Auto Painter or Topaz Impressions have been unsuccessful. What bothers me most is that I think I am seeing evidence of possible interference with these sites and possible hijacking of potential users. Does anyone on the Hog have any recent experience with these companies and their software? Most discussions about these on the Hog are old, at least the ones I've been able to locate through the Hog search tool. I do not wish to cast aspersions or foment any conspiracy thinking about either of these companies, but something about the searches I'm making and the results I'm seeing gives me pause and sets off alarm bells. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am seriously interested in using a good, well-evaluated painting tool and would welcome hearing any recent buyer's opinion and experience with anything they might recommend. Also, which site should I use to acquire a legitimate copy of what I would pay for? I'm looking to not get taken or spoofed by malicious software or phony vendors. Thanks in advance for your input.

I think plain old Photoshop is still the best software around to address any pp or printing needs!

I have been using Topaz software for years, and have never noticed any evidence of "interference or hijacking ". I own the entire suite, which obviously includes Impressions. Impressions is an excellent "photo painting software". I very recently downloaded updates to two of the Topaz programs, again with no issues. Updates, by the way, are always free.

Check your anti-virus software or your Internet Service Provider to see if either one of them isn't blocking your ability to download these products. I have a number of Topaz product, as a number of us do, and have never had a problem downloading them.

Update and thanks to those who replied. I have since been able to download and install Impressions and can see that it is quite powerfull. In trying to register for a download, I had experienced a dual request that I reset my password, including an odd message that the link they had sent me for such purpose was invalid. Very shortly thereafter I received a message from Google saying that someone from a site they didn't trust had attempted to access my Google account. Hence my original post of concern. In the same quest for trial painting software info and downloads, I had downloaded a copy of Dynamic Auto Painter. It opened on my very up - to - date windows machine, and completely froze in a manner I have never seen in my 30 years of jockeying computers, raising my suspicions of nefarious intentions in that case.

Anyone have a clue about how/where to get the best price on Impressions?

Thanks again to all respondents.

Several years ago I downloaded every paint program I could find including Topaz, and they are okay. But if you want something that's exceptional check out Corel Painter

http://www.painterartist.com/en/product/painter-essentials/ 34 euro seems more reasonable, and with my drawing skills still too much money :)
