Interesting comment re drivers driving across for you----Really no difference riding in a car except for the noise and vibration---
Thanks for looking Robert, a friend of mines Aunt had to sit in the back seat with eyes closed to make it across.
Some people just don't do bridges.

It gets extremely windy over the water on this bridge. In real bad conditions, you aren't allowed to cross without an escort vehicle. I've actually shot photos right through the windshield while driving across the Mighty Mac before, in my young and foolish days!
It's been a few years now but when it first put the ferries out of business ferry capt's were proud to point out that they never closed for bad weather.

I enjoyed 2 and 3 especially. We crossed it going to the Upper Peninsula.
Thanks photophile, hope you're planning another trip back!

That would be cool, no shortage of beautiful places to shoot any time of year.
Outstanding set of images of this amazing bridge. I loved the download of each one, but for favorite I am picking the last one. Super composition and beautiful light in this one.
No question, the Mighty Mac sure offers some great photo op's!

Very beautiful!!!!! We drove over it last year. Your shots are outstanding!!
If you want to see Mackinac Island lovingly photographed in a movie, including the hotel, check out "Somewhere in Time." The late Christopher Reeve, a young and stunning Jane Seymour, and Christopher Plummer star. It's a time travel movie.
