It gets extremely windy over the water on this bridge. In real bad conditions, you aren't allowed to cross without an escort vehicle. I've actually shot photos right through the windshield while driving across the Mighty Mac before, in my young and foolish days!

I love the thing but at five miles from end to end and with a see-thru grate road deck @ just under 200' above the water more than a few people are hesitant to drive across, and Bridge Authority drivers will drive your vehicle across for you.

I enjoyed 2 and 3 especially. We crossed it going to the Upper Peninsula.
