I have a Nikon D3300 and with it came a ML-L3 remote. All well and good but I can't get the remote to work.
My objective is to use the ML with the camera set on Bulb for a time exposure. I've tried going through the instruction manual, and using U tube. From what I've seen the ML works with all Nikon models EXCEPT the D3300.
All help appreciated for sure! Bill
Call NikonUSA and ask them. Have details of your camera purchase at hand: Who sold it to you? When did you buy it? What representations were made in conjunction with the sale re the wireless remote? If bought privately, maybe the seller thought they were doing you a favor by including an accessory that (PERHAPS) is not compatible. If bought recently from a commercial dealer, perhaps you have a claim for a refund. Marshall the facts and contact the manufacturer and (MAYBE) then the seller.
Works fine with my D3300.
Is the remote even supposed to work in bulb mode?
I changed the battery in the remote. Still won't work. I have the camera set on B. I tried it in other modes, but it won't fire.
I can't get it to fire in ANY mode. New battery in the remote. What menu option are you shooting in when you use your remote?

My last Nikon was a D300, sild a few years ago. As I recall, there is a menu setting for self-timer and remotes. There is such on my Canon 5DIII and SL1.

The D3300 does not have a bulb mode.
yes it does. I'm lookin at it. I can't get the camera to fire from the remote in any mode, including bulb.
THanks for that. I'll call Nikon.
I have a d3300 and it works just fine with the remote . . . You are aware that you have to set the camera's release mode in the menu to be wireless remote? . . . And that it needs to be in "line of sight" with the sensor on the front or back of the camera? . . .
Are you using back button focus?
If so, return the shutter function to the shutter release function.

I agree with AK Grandpa. There is a menu setting for the remote.
Also, after a period of idle time (15 minutes ???) you have to reset the function in the menu, although i read somewhere that if you hold the button down on the remote it will reset. Never tried that.
