Looking for a point & shoot camera that has the best features such as best image quality, super zoom, image stabilization,view finder, etc. Does anyone have information they can share with a preference

Loc: Southern CA
Sony RX10III, $1600. Canon SX60, $500. Upcoming next year, Nikon DL 24-500, $1000. These are three cameras that are very good, priced low to high. The Canon SX60 is the best Bang for the dollar. IMO.

For "best image quality" in a P&S, you want to look at cameras with a 1" sensor. This review article will get you started.

I already have a Canon camera with a long lens but am looking for a smaller "point & shoot" camera when I don't want to carry a large camera -closer to a pocket size

You are going to have to trade image quality with super zoom. Larger sensors and better image quality are not consistent with super zoom.
You also have to decide what size you want. Do you want a "bridge" camera, that looks like a DSLR with a grip, pop up flash, etc? Do you want a pocketable camera?
My criteria for a P&S is that it shoot RAW, have good WiFi connection and control, have a viewfinder, and fit in my pocket. I want it to be convenient enough that I can always have it with me, and that the images fit my workflow (unlike iPhone photos). Integration with my iPhone will let me easily copy, process, and uplink photos from the camera, as well as control it with my iPhone so I can put it on a pole for high perspective views. And a viewfinder is critical; I like to see what I'm doing in sunlight.
I settled on a Panasonic LF1, which meets all these criteria and has a step zoom control that makes it easy to get quick, repeatable focal lengths. The viewfinder is weak, but it is functional. I had hoped that Panasonic would upgrade the camera, but they were swayed by the super zoom wars.
But, these are the sort of criteria you need to settle on before you can select the camera that you want and will use.
