They haven't been good about the exchange in the past. I had to pay over $200 and went through hell. Then after using the D610 for awhile, the D610 developed a sensor problem and Nikon wouldn't admoit there was a problem. Immediately after cleaning the sensor dozens of spots would appear. You're the first person that I've ever heard had a good experience with Nikon. And I've purchased 10 Nikon cameras and still getting treated like shit.

Go Canon.

The Nikon D620 is supposedly in the works to be announced sometime in 2017. I own a DX camera, and if I were to upgrade to full frame, I would save my pennies to get a D750. It's just a better full frame camera. IMO. The D750 had a recall too. But Nikon fixed the problem without total replacement.

I'm surprised about a D620. If I were the marketing king at Nikon, I would write off the entire 600 number sequence as tainted. I'm happy as can be with my D610, but if I were a new purchaser, I would shy away from anything in the 600's even if that were irrational.

IMO there are 4 semi-pro/advanced amateur Nikons worth considering: the D7100/7200, the D750, the D810, and the D500. Note the leaked Nikon "Black Friday" deals coming up. Good deals on both cameras with free battery vertical grips and lenses. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I own a D600 with a shutter count well over 6000 and never had a problem with oil or dust on the sensor. I love this camera.

I loved my D600 as well and never had a problem after the shutter was replaced until a couple of weeks ago. Two years trouble-free and then, pow, dust and whatever else. One phone call and sent the camera in. Got a call the day after they received it and had a new D610 right away. Start to finish, a one week turnaround. Excellent service.
