I have Chrome, Edge & IE installed. No issues. I have never experienced particular websites that do not load expeditiously with Chrome or Edge. I do prefer Chrome. I do not think MS is intentionally or unintentionally trying to annoy people. I do believe that conflicts may exist, but I know tons of people who have successfully installed Win 10 without those issues. I think the issue is not a common one.

I don't think so, I have the same problem. I think MS is either intentionally trying to annoy people want to keep using IE11, or it is just a bug that suits their purpose, so they don't prioritize fixing it. I have done CCcleaner for other reasons, and sfc to try and improve stability (which is still lacking in Win10). No, I'm not going to reinstall Win10 (if I have to go that far, I will reinstall Win7).

I tried Edge, I don't like it. I specifically like having the editable drop down history in IE. But, I have had to get used to using several browsers, because some websites work best with one, and others work best with another.

Thanks for the help from everyone - appreciate it!
I have completed all of the recommendations, including the running the FSC scan and running CCleaner .... all without any luck. Unfortunately I don't posses the skills to re-install windows 10 (the Montana legislature is currently considering introducing a new law in Montana making it illegal for me personally to own a computer ... a bit over the top don't you think?). Also have no idea how to make CCleaner check only the registry ... other than the problem with the bowser, windows 10 seems to be working fine.

That sounds more than a bit over the top!! Might you have a reference for such considered action? I looked all over the Montana Gov website and could not find any reference.

Have you considered contacting Microsoft about your default browser issue. Many times they will fix issues via a remote session, without charge. Just type, "Microsoft Support" in the Cortana search box (to the right of the Start) and follow the steps)
Hope you resolve everything.

See the column of icons at the very left? Click the second one down, the four blocks labelled "Registry." Off you go!

To make a verrrry long story short, I finally found the solution to my problem. My problem was specific to Outlook, and slipstick has the fix:

http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/links-wont-open-in-windows-10/

Down under the "do it for me" section are some links that fixed it for me. If your problem is not just in Outlook, this may not fix it for you.
