Does anyone out there have a slide/negative scanner that they would like to part with? Consumer quality would be fine and a "Stand Alone" device is preferred. Something like a Wolverine 4D?

I have a Canon Scanner I havent used in awhile. It is a D 660U flatbed that has an insert for negatives and slides.
It is currently hooked up to an old Dell Dimension desktop computer because it wont run on windows Vista do to a software incompatibility issue. You can do a search for specs on it and see if it is something you would be interested in or can use. I also have a complete darkroom set up I am thinking of moving out Along with some very nice Canon film cameras. ( EOS3 w/ battery grip and an Elan IIe body both in mint condition )

Thanks for the response. But it doesn't look like this will run on Win 10. This is another reason I would prefer a simple stand alone scanner - none of those grievous interface problems.

I have a bunch of film stuff that I still enjoy but mostly vintage classics like the Leica IIIf, Minolta CLE, Leitz CL, Olympus Pen FT as well as a few Russian things. I like shooting film a lot but when I'm serious I take the Sony.

That works fine for slides, but how do you get negatives to look right?

I'm using the Wolverine 2D Mighty, which I paid about $120 on Amazon. I'm not selling it but you should try it. It does negatives, slides, in 35mm, 127, 110, and 8mm film. It doesn't do 6x6 but I use the light table/digital Nikon for that. Quite a unit. Amazon has the best price...on ebay some are $250...wow..!! Nyms

Thanks, but it doesn't look like this one runs on Win 10 either.

It still looks like the Wolverine or similar is my best bet. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

You can buy software, Vue Scan, that will run a scanner on different operating systems. Check it out.

The V600 will work with windows 10. I have a V550 refurb and it does beautifully with the default software.

The Wolverine F2D scanners shouldn't have any problems with Win10.

I don't connect mine to my computer. When i use mine, the F2D scanner stores the slide or negative scans to a SD card and I then import the scans from the SD card just like I do any other JPEG image.

I have a Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO Slide & Film Scanner AF-5000 SF2 1207 that I bought (as new) in 2012, and never used. I paid $2000 at the time, and while that is negotiable, it may be more scanner than you are looking for. Let me know if you want to discuss.

Bad you couldn't get some use out it. Thanks for the offer but it's much more capable than anything I need. My wants run to fairly simple.

So are mine, which leaves me scratching my head: why did I buy this thing?
