Beautiful. I expect to see Thomas Hardy or Jude the Obscure pop up any moment.

I think Mr. Hardy is hanging around St. Peter's Church in Dorchester. At least there is a plaque on the wall with his name on it.

Excellent set of beautiful photographs, they all show how glorious the English countryside can be, you are very fortunate to live so close to that part of the UK.

Awesome series, Sylvia! Iconic England scenes from this Yankee's viewpoint, and oh-so beautiful. The lone sheep is classic!

Your generous comments are always very much appreciated Linda, pleased you enjoyed the moors. Couldn't resist the shot of the sheep no others anywhere near him!

Fantastic series, Sylvia. How beautiful the land! And your 'All Alone' needs a frame, stat! Gorgeous shot, and an instant classic.

When I was young, I read James Herriot's multi-book series, starting with 'All Creatures Great and Small,' set in the Yorkshire Dales, where he lived and worked. How nice to see them! No wonder he was so taken with the area.

I enjoy those books, too.
