A very enjoyable and pleasing set of images Roxiemarty. I liked all of these, but have picked #6 as favorite because of the color and subdued light. Congrats on your efforts at getting great results in an environment that seems hostile to photography.

Thank you tbell, I agree that area can be very hostile to photography. Extreme heat, blinding light and sometimes blowing sand....what could go wrong? I appreciate your comments.

White Sands National Monument, near Alamogordo, New Mexico. About 1 1/2 hours from El Paso, Texas. Thanks for the compliments. The largest deposits of gypsum sand in the world, it can be seen from outer space!

Thanks Roxie. Had heard the place name many times but never really thought about the meaning until I saw your photos of the whiteness of the sand. Wow! Difficult to capture well but you achieved it. Another location to go on my bucket list.

Be sure and take water if you go, and I sometimes have a walkie talkie too. It is very easy to get lost out there. I always keep the road or the sound of cars nearby. There are so many places I have yet to go on my Bucket List!

Beautiful series of shots. A few shots look like there's even snow. First couple just might look great in black/white. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Hiker. All hot sand, no snow. I will experiment with b&w when I get more time. I do love some landscapes in b&w.
