Some people are just plain ignorant on what youtube is and what it does...I have never seen such blatant lack of understanding. Again, let me explain it to those with an elementary understanding. Youtube is NOT a source of information, it is only a vehicle to t***sport via internet....information. LOL goodness...some seem to have issues understanding this basic knowledge.

youtube is a superb tool for finding out about the most obscure genres of music. From a fiddle music search of the "Fargo" theme I ended up with this old boy. I'm a hack fiddler that started at 55 and can fool people that don't know much about about fiddling. Even I'm on youtube.

Rac, I'm only going to lay it out for you once...

You are the one with a disconnect. Of course, youtube is simply the medium...it is like facebook... Lies, innuendos, distortions, fabrications and yes some t***hful stuff gets uploaded... no peer-review, nothing to stop anyone with a video camera and an internet connection. It's like an opinion piece on steroids, you have the power of video to spew crazy thoughts are going on in your head, wh**ever you want the world to see.

Now, what you do not realize, when you are pumping the marginal ID theories, you are going against a carefully constructed, interconnected pyramid of logic, known facts and understood processes 100s of years old, known as science. Of course you will point out the dead branches and incorrect theories along the way (like your repetitive remarks about junk DNA). Well how did they find out it was junk DNA? That is the beauty of the scientific process, it is self correcting... usually when a theory is dovetailed into other disciplines.

No theory in science can stand alone... it must dovetail EXACTLY with every other branch of science. The theory of evolutionary biology fits PERFECTLY with not only biology and genetics, but archaeology, anthropology and 20 other branches of science. Not only that, and this is the beauty of science, the theory of evolutionary biology has lead to breakthroughs in many of these fields, proving the missing pieces of the puzzle to thousands of theories.(that is the holy grail of a theory)

....and here comes Rac, with his YouTube video to refute consensual SCIENCE. The ID guys are clever, they use the guise of science to explain something, some esoteric germ or bird with a weird characteristic... then somewhere in their 2.5 hour video, they pull a sleight of hand and voila, ID is proven and evolution is disproven.

Everyone laughs at you (except the believers) because you are bringing a pea-shooter (YouTube videos) to a global thermonuclear war. (Basically the consensus of millions of scientists who have dedicated their lives to finding t***h) These ID videos attack one tiny aspect of the overall theory, and with just the ability to cast reasonable doubt, they exploit that doubt... but it's not a courtroom proceeding, reasonable doubt just means that more investigation is required on this aspect, NOT let's throw away the WHOLE INTERCONNECTED MODEL OF OUR WORLD AND GO BACK TO WHAT THEY TOLD US TO BELIEVE 2000 YEARS AGO.

EXAMPLE: Whales vestigial legs and pelvis. Scientists look at this interesting thing and say how can this be? Why would whales have these structures? What can explain it? Comparing similar science to other marine mammals, it became evident that these creatures developed a womb specifically because they could no long birth in seawater, but amniotic fluid, which amazingly, has the very same chemical composition as seawater. Whales moved back to the ocean, huh, the theory seems to dovetail perfectly every other branch of science.... So it's put up on the big board, not as T***H, but as our BEST GUESS WITH CURRENT DATA.

The ID scientist looks at a whale and thinks how can this creature exist within the framework of the Bible. (Isn't it strange that virtually all ID scientists are fundamentalist christians?) Why would God make a pelvis in a whale? Of course, because whales follow God's order to be fruitful and multiply... since they give live birth, they developed a pelvis to protect the womb, sounds logical. except, why would a whale even have a womb, except to serve as a way to give birth on land, conveniently overlooked by the ID scientist, who is now moving on to FAST FOSSILS, because how can all these fossils of extinct creatures exist unless they were died in the Biblical flood... so let me show you that 4000 years is enough time to make fossils.

And that would be that, we'd have our laugh and go on. But you actually do not realize why there is such a strong pushback against your harmless posts. why would a nuclear power be afraid of a peashooter? Well, let me tell you where ID offends so many, and not just real scientists, but people of many faiths and disciplines. What ID is trying to do, is wedge the t***hs of the Bible into the framework of science.

Why? to legitimize ID, when it is part of science, then obviously Christianity is the ONE TRUE religion, Hinduism, Buddhism...even the Jews are wrong, and only those that follow the Bible have the straight dope from GOD. Since it's a FACT now, we can make laws, since the Bible is GOD's word, now proven by science, we can righteously call homosexuals a*********ns and make laws against them with good conscience.

I understand ID, it would be good to be sure of a creator. But if you have noticed, this world is constructed precisely so that no one can prove one way or another how it began. That is intrinsic to this universe. Mitochondria can perhaps understand the cell they live in, they can perhaps comprehend that there are many other cells like them, but they can never imagine a creature that organizes billions of cells into it's body.

Personally, as I have stated, I agree with you that the universe was designed. My current "belief" is that the world is pure potential and our consciousness creates reality as we go along...my beliefs have changed several times, I'm always ready to entertain new ideas, because nothing can be proven to others in the world. It is even difficult to prove that others exist, for that matter.

My belief is valid as yours, and as valid as those that believe the universe is a finely tuned machine and those that believe it's a chaotic mess and those that believe there's a deity for every aspect of life. But when you try to say that your belief is the TRUE one, to exclusion of others, you are basically telling everyone you think that they are primitives with primitive belief systems and you're coming along with the Bible to enlighten us.

Go ahead and dodge and hem all you want, I'm not answering you on this... we've gone round and round many times. But this is why we laugh when you try YouTube science.
