Epson printers low end....that is under a couple of grand....are junk. My daughter worked for the company for years in the complaint recieving department. I wouldn't look twice at a single function Epson never mind a multifunction.
I'd like to keep it under $300-$400.
My 2550 is 4 mts old and use it to print photo mobile, over 1000 5x7 and no ink refill, still use the 1400 witch is ink hungry printer the 2550 does not do the job of the 1400 but exceptable.

You may want to check out Epson model #1430.
Stay away from Epson R2000 printer! I had 3, the first 2 being replaced by Epson for not even printing close to satisfactory. After the 3rd one, I gave up in disgust and started using my wife's inexpensive Epson XP-810 which has worked like a charm for 4 yrs. Good luck!

After Canon rebate, my Pro-100 was free. One downside is the size & weight.
You haven't purchased ink yet, have you?
my r 2000 has been nothing but stellar; I leave it for 6 months and it starts right up again--trouble-free.

My photo partner and I have printed nearly 100 each, 13x19-inch color prints, for both exhibit and sale. We have replaced the cartridges several times. We originally purchased Canon cartridges from Staples, but have quite successfully switched to re-filled cartridges from LD Products:
