This is my first post on this site. I have been following the discussions regarding the D7200. It appears that Nikon just reduced the price of the camera in advance of announcing a new model.
On the Costco website they have the camera with accessories and the 18-55mm and 55-300mm lenses. The price is $1699.00 minus a rebate of $300.00 for a net of $1399.00. I was just in my local
Costco and they now have the camera in-store with the two lenses and accessories for a price of $1399.00 minus a $300.00 rebate for a net of $1099.00. For those interested in this camera
this is a great deal. I have a D5100 with those two lenses and was looking for a deal on the D7200 body, but this deal is like getting the lenses for free. I am also wondering if the new model
will have the reticulating screen like my D5100 since that is the only feature for my needs that the D7200 lacks.
That's an unbelievable deal on the D7200 for a final cost of $1099 with rebate. That's even worth paying a membership fee at Costco, which I am not for now.
I went from a D5000 to a D7100 and it is a rare occasion when I miss the screen that moves but only you can determine if a new camera is worth the expense.
Sometimes when I look back and check the shots taken with the D5000 I have to wonder if it was worth it for me but I had a G.A.S. attack and had the what-for to spend the money but I can tell you that it is just as easy to take bad pictures with a 7100. I'm not out to burst your bubble, just something to think about.

I have found in my 50plus years of taking pictures I can take bad photos with any camera, my lack of skills knows no limit.
Thanks for your observations Mike. The main reason for upgrading to the D7200 is that I have four AI lenses from my Nikon F2AS that I wish to use on my digital SLR. They mount on the D5100 but do not meter or give indications of focus. I tried one of them on the D7200 and in aperture priority mode, the camera sets the appropriate shutter speed and/or ISO. In addition, the D7200 gives indication of correct focus. I thought of going with a D750. but I cannot justify the extra expense of going to a FX camera/

Well said. I know exactly where you are coming from.

I understand completely. That was the main justification for the 7100. I've had it for about 1 year and have yet to aquire any old Nikkor glass the body will focus but I still look in thrift stores and such for the bargains.
Does anybody know when the D7300 will hit the stores? I feel a GAS ATTACK coming on.

When the price of the D7200 goes back up and then they release the D7300. After that they once again reduce the price of the D7200.

Excellent deal. I'm tempted. I'de be amazed if the next D7xxx doesn't have the articulating screen. Is it worth passing up this deal, though?

Consistency is everything in photography!
The writer doesn't think it will have "the flippy screen." Surprising.
